Camp TREK

Camp TREK is an in home group therapy or neighborhood initiative that offers an inclusive environment for your family, children, and/or neighbors. Camp TREK is designed as 2 or 3 hour session that can be offered 1, 2, 3, or 5x per week depending on the needs and goals of the participants. Camp TREK is for ages 3-6, 7-10, 11-14, 14-22, 22+.
**Programs age groups may change/adapt age ranges based on abilities and needs of participants. 

Since Camp TREK is an inclusion home group/neighborhood therapy program. We start by asking you to fill out a registration form for your child/loved one, so that we can determine the best programming plan for our participants. Programs can be launched in a couple of different ways:

1) You can become a Host Home Family! To learn more, please click on our Host Home Info section under TREK. Please note: Host Home Families receive significant discounts on their therapy program.

2) Together, we can contact your HOA to discuss providing inclusion camps in your neighborhood park.

Please note: Individuals who do not currently have a host home or park in their neighborhood can volunteer to become one or be put on our waiting list.

Camp TREK Essential Eligibility

Please note: All programs require a minimum of 4 participants. In addition, Community Health and Wellness, LLC has established guidelines to ensure inclusion in all programs by providing quality leisure services in a safe environment. As a policy, personal care is NOT provided in therapeutic programs, including Camp TREK program. Participants in the program are expected to:

  • Be able to function in a group setting with a 1:6 ​staff to participant ratio for up to 2 hours.
  • Be independent in toileting. Staff will provide verbal prompts to use the restroom and wash hands at appropriate times.
  • Have socially acceptable behaviors. Participants may not have any aggressive behaviors towards themselves or others.
  • Be independently mobile.
  • Be able to remain with the group 75% of the time.
  • Be independent in dressing in a timely manner. Staff will provide minimal assistance such as tying shoelaces and putting on coats. In the case an activity requires a full change of clothes (i.e. swimming), Staff will provide verbal prompts to change, but will not provide assistance in changing.

Community Health and Wellness, LLC programs and activities are designed for group interaction and enrichment, therefore, those participants requiring 1:1 assistance more than 25% of the time or are unable to meet the above essential eligibility of the program, may provide, at their own cost, an attendant without being charged additional program fees.
